De Vere venue to stage first IJP Design Tour event

De Vere Mottram Hall’s tournament credentials have been further underlined after being chosen by Ryder Cup talisman Ian Poulter’s clothing company IJP Design to host the inaugural IJP Design Tour event this Summer.

The top Cheshire resort (pictured) aims to continue building upon the wealth of praise it received from players and dignitaries alike after successfully hosting the leadings stars from the European Senior Tour last year, by welcoming this exclusive team event to the recently refurbished venue.

The resort underwent a comprehensive £6 million pound makeover which saw resort-wide improvements, improving the resort’s golf and leisure facilities, and elevating guest experiences to a whole new level.

The standards of the championship course were further enhanced through remodelling of bunkers, installation of water features, and extensive investments into drainage across the layout.

Away from the course, there is a contemporary new clubhouse which includes a fully-featured, ultra-modern Halfway house, along with De Vere’s signature Claret Jug Bar and Restaurant which has quickly become a firm favourite with members and guests alike, so is sure to be a hit with competitors in the summer.

“To be chosen to host this event, which is associated with such an elite name in world golf and a fan favourite, Ian Poulter, is testament to the fantastic development that the course has undergone over the last year’ commented newly-appointed De Vere Director of Golf Keith Pickard.

“We are enormously proud of Mottram Hall’s growing reputation as a leading tournament host and continue to build upon the success of last year’s European Senior Tour event is progress we are extremely excited about.”

Ryder Cup hero, Poulter commented on the upcoming event: “I’m very proud to announce the first ever IJP Design Tour event. Amateur golfers will be competing at Mottram Hall in a unique team format event while wearing limited edition IJP Design clothing.“

The IJP Design Tournament will involve teams of four amateurs competing in a Stableford format, and is open to both males and females over 16. All entrants will receive a unique IJP Design team outfit to wear and will all compete for the chance to win exclusive prizes, including tickets to this year’s Open Championship at Hoylake.

Entries opened on April 11th at www.ijpdesign.com/global/ijp-tour/ where further tourney details can be found.
