Video review: New Srixon Z-TX irons

Shiny new sets of irons always make us sit up and take notice, especially if, like Srixon’s new Z-TX irons, they promise a 20 per cent bigger sweet spot without compromising playability.

The new Z-TX range is designed to appeal to better players who are still looking for that forgiveness when they are not quite on their game.

The thin top line and sole is designed to appeal to the better player but a thinner face and nickel weighting in the rear of the club adds distance, forgiveness and ease of launch meaning mid-handicappers can also enjoy the compact head profile.

To see just how well Srixon have managed to combine playability and forgiveness in the Z-TX irons TG equipment editor David Connor and instruction editor Joel Tadman took them out for a first hit and reveal their thoughts in the video below.
