TaylorMade unveil new R9 Superdeep driver

TaylorMade have launched a new driver in its R9 family – the Superdeep.

The Superdeep is designed to sit alongside the newly-launched R9 SuperTri but is designed for players with faster swing speeds who want to reduce spin rates.

It produces a more penetrating trajectory thanks to lower spin and this is achieved by making the face extremely deep from sole to crown. This means the face isn’t as long from heel to toe making it extremely workable but a lot more unforgiving than the SuperTri, which has a higher MOI.

The Superdeep is therefore aimed at the more accomplished player who will find the sweet spot more often.

It still features the same moveable weight technology as the SuperTri as well as the adjustable hosel for multiple face angles.

Sergio Garcia has already put the Superdeep into play at the Masters in Augusta and TaylorMade expect more of their tour players to follow suit.
