SKYCADDIE SGX – FIRST LOOK!

The SkyCaddie SG5 was a pretty impressive product and it did fantastically in our recent GPS test in the magazine – but the next generation of system has well and truly landed with the arrival of the SGX.

Unveiled for the first time at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, the SkyCaddie SGX is one of the most innovative bits of kit that TG has ever seen.

As you would expect from any quality GPS sysem, the SGX gives you accurate readings to hazards and to the front, middle and back of the green.

But the new SGX also comes with 30,000 courses pre-loaded and ready to go – you don’t even have to tell the device which course you’re at, it will just do it for you as soon as you get to the club and turn the machine on.

The SGX also lets you learn how far (genuinely) you hit the ball with each club. Every time you take a shot, the SGX will record that distance and over time will create an average distance that you hit with that particular bat. So if you’re not sure what club to take in windy conditions, the SGX will give you a pretty good guideline.

We will be covering this product in much more detail over the next four or five months in the magazine, so watch out for it!
