Video review: New Odyssey White Ice putter range

Odyssey haven’t become the No1 putter brand on the professional tours by resting on their laurels and with the new White Ice range of putters they have ensured they are ahead of the game yet again.

The White Ice range debuts Odyssey’s new White Ice insert, which is designed to be slightly firmer than their previous inserts and to deliver faster ball speeds off the face.

The reasoning behind this is the change in groove rules at the top end of the game will likely result in players using a softer ball, such as the new Callaway Tour i(s) ball, which can feel a little “dead” with Odyssey’s previous softer inserts.

Therefore, Odyssey have firmed this up and say it delivers virtually the same ball speed  as a traditional metal face but still retains the same performance-enhancing technology by moving weight to the perimeters for more forgiveness.

The range also features a Black Nickel finish to reduce glare and improve aesthetics. Five models have initially been released in the range – the #1, #7, #9, Rossie and Sabretooth. The Sabretooth is priced at £149 while the other putters have an RRP of £99.

David Connor, TG Equipment Editor, and Instruction Editor Joel Tadman tested out two of the five putters in the range and you can see what they thought in the video below.
