What Gear Focus: Paul Goydos’ sub-60 clubs

It’s not every day someone goes and shoots 59 on the PGA Tour – but Paul Goydos has done just that with a bag full of TaylorMade clubs, all of which feature in our exclusive What Gear 2010 section in association with online golf.

The American took just 22 putts as he negotiated the TPC Deere Run course at the John Deere Classic on his way to a record-equalling score.

Goydos’ round incorporated 11 birdies and no bogies as he finished just one shot ahead of Steve Stricker after the first round.

In Goydos’ bag was:

DRIVER: TaylorMade R9 (9.5°)
FAIRWAY: TaylorMade R9 (13°)
HYBRID: TaylorMade Rescue TP (17° & 22°)
IRONS: TaylorMade R9 TP (4-9)
WEDGES: TaylorMade xFT
PUTTER: TaylorMade Rossa Monza Spider
BALL: Titleist ProV1
