ELS BACK TO WINNING WAYS WITH CALLAWAY GEAR

Ernie Els heaped praise on his Callaway equipment as he recorded his first victory since 2008 after a final round of 66 at the WGC-CA Championship.

The South African finished four shots ahead of fellow South African Charl Schwartzel at Doral, ending with an impressive 72-hole total of 18-under-par.

“First of all, my equipment is good,” said the 40-year-old who was particularly pleased with the performance of his new FT Tour driver.

“It was great in the wind, wasn’t ballooning and I was hitting it quite long. The golf ball I’m using, the Callaway Tour i(s), is a softer ball and my short game really came back.

Els has actually been playing the ball since the back end of 2009 and he was also using Callaway’s Tour X fairway woods, X Protoype irons, X-forged wedges and Odyssey White Ice #5 putter.
