New Mizuno MP-630 and MP-630 Fast Track drivers

Mizuno have just launched two stunning brand new drivers in the MP-630 and the MP-630 Fast Track aimed at the better player.

The drivers have been designed to improve Mizuno’s driver representation on tour and feature a sleek 445cc head and pear-shaped profile that will appear to pros and low handicappers alike.

The Fast Track driver features an evolved version of Mizuno’s moveable weight system which was introduced in the previous MP-600 line. Two sliding 8g weights can be positioned in the head to promote 45 different trajectory settings.

With weight closer to the face spin rates can be reduced for faster ball speeds while they can also be set up to encourage a draw or fade bias – although Mizuno point out this is more for fine tuning than fault correction.

The regular MP-630 driver is a stripped-back version of the Fast Track driver without the moveable weights. Instead the MP-630 has an internal weighting set to replicate the Fast Track’s neutral setting.

Both new drivers produce a high ball speed thanks to Titanium Hot Metal face technology as seen in Mizuno’s successful MX-700 range which increases COR (spring-like effect) across more of the face to instil greater forgiveness on off-centre strikes.

Andy Kikidas, Mizuno’s tour manager, said: “With the MP-630s extended Fast Track, we’ve brought spin rates right down and generated visible yardage gains. We’re now working on optimising flight settings for players like Luke Donald. If the results are anything to go by, you’ll see more Mizuno drivers on tour.”
