Molinari powers to victory with Nike Golf equipment

Nike staffer Francesco Molinari showed nerves of steel to hold off world number one Lee Westwood in the final round of the HSBC Champions event in Shanghai.

The Italian, who made his Ryder Cup debut in this year’s victory against the United States at Celtic Manor, finished with a one shot advantage over Westwood with a final total of 19-under-par.

As well as using Nike’s VR STR8-FIT Tour driver (10.5), he also used a SQ II fairway wood (13˚) and a SQ Sumo hybrid (18˚).

Molinari, who finished off with an impressive 67 on Sunday, also relied on Nike’s VR Pro Combo irons and two VR wedges (52˚ and 60˚) on his way to victory.

He showed impressive control over the four days with the Nike ONE Tour D ball and also used Lunar Control footwear.

The 27-year-old Molinari finished 10 shots clear of third-placed golfers Richie Ramsay and Luke Donald.
