Miguel Angel Jimenez’s winning European Masters clubs

He may be the elder statesman in Colin Montgomerie’s Ryder Cup team but Miguel Angel Jimenez has proven that he fully merits his place following victory in the Omega European Masters at Crans-Sur-Sierre.

The Ping staff player held off the challenge of Ryder Cup team-mate Edoardo Molinari to give Monty a boost with two of his charges maintaining excellent recent form.

It was Jimenez’s first victory in 22 attempts at Crans-Sur-Sierre, although he had previously finished second on two occasions.

After nine holes of the final round the Spaniard had extended his lead to six shots but Molinari cut this to just one shot with three holes left to put the pressure on. However, he responded to win by three strokes for his third Tour victory of the season.

The week previously Jimenez put a new Ping Scottsdale Pickemup putter in the bag at the Johnnie Walker Championship, where he secured his Ryder Cup spot and the move has obviously paid dividends again.

Here are all the clubs he did it with:

DRIVER: Ping G15
FAIRWAY: TiSI Tec 3, 5 and 7 woods
IRONS: Ping S56 (4-PW)
WEDGES: Ping Tour-S (52 and 60 degree)
PUTTER: Ping Scottsdale Pickemup
