New Yonex VMS irons launched

Yonex have announced the launch of their new VMS irons – the eagerly awaited update to the VMX range.

The new Yonex VMS set has been designed to carry on the mantle of the VMX irons, which delivered brilliant forgiveness in a reasonably compact head.

Yonex say the VMS irons are even more forgiving than their predecessor and longer too.

The irons feature two main technologies. Firstly, Yonex’s Power Weight System sees more weight towards the heel of the long irons to reduce slice, while the mid irons feature evenly spread weighting for a high MOI and the short irons have more toe weight to combat a hook.

The second piece of technology is the V-Con Core – a specially designed four-piece insert placed directly behind the 3mm face to reduce unwanted vibrations and provide maximum energy transfer for faster ball speeds off the face.

Yonex have also released the VMS hybrids from 3 to 6 iron, which are available seperately or as part of the iron set.

The specially-designed Yonex shaft is also up to five times lighter than the VMX shaft and thin-wall technology means more weight has been placed near the head of the club for improved swing speeds and more distance.

The irons will retail from £399 and the hybrids can be bought individually at £89 each.
