New game-improver irons from Mizuno unveiled

Mizuno are masters in the forged irons market but the new JPX-800 HD irons, which have been designed to suit the needs of game-improvers, offer a touch of class for those of us looking for a more forgiving iron.

As we’ve hinted, the JPX-800 HD irons are cast rather than forged, but they are packed full of technology and innovation.

From 4-7 iron, the clubs have been designed with the highest MOI that the company has ever produced, and the size of the sweetspot has also been maximised – these things combine to make the clubs incredibly forgiving.

Unlike some game-improver irons, the HD irons don’t look too chunky at address and the wide sole and low centre of gravity helps to promote a soaring ball flight which gives greater distance through carry.

INFORMATION: As always, we’ve got the full story of the JPX-800 HD irons in the next issue of TG, which goes on sale on September 8.
