Callaway launch Razr X HL irons and hybrids

Callaway have released the new Razr X HL irons and hybrids aimed at giving the super-game improver as much forgiveness as possible.

The HL stands for high launch and this is achieved with an undercut cavity system which pulls weight low in the clubhead. The lower centre of gravity also  makes the sweet spot more accessible at lower impact locations on the face where many amateurs strike the ball.

The design sees a stainless steel cast head coupled with a multi-material medallion on the back of the clubhead, which is manufactured from aluminum and thermoplastic polyurethane to fine-tune sound and enhance feel.

Golfers who struggle with longer irons can substitute them for the HL hybrids, which feature moderate offset to make it easier to get the ball airborne. The clubface also features a Zero Roll Design, which means is is flat from sole to crown to produce a higher launch angle on shots hit low on the face.

The hybrids are available individually for £145 while a seven-piece iron set costs £549 in steel and £699 in graphite.
