Richie Ramsay signs with Under Armour clothing

Scotsman Richie Ramsay has become the latest new recruit to the army of Tour players wearing Under Armour apparel.

Ramsey, who shot to prominence by winning the US Amateur Championship in 2006 and climbing to the No1 amateur in the world, kicked off the new relationship by wearing the new UA coldblack technology in the heat of Abu Dhabi, where he won the Emirates Invitational Pro-Am.

The coldblack technology is new for Under Armour in 2012 and features a special fabric dye which reflects UV rays. This means that even dark clothing doesn’t absorb the heat and prevents the golfer from overheating on the course.

Ramsay said: “We must have experienced temperatures as high as 80’F during our win at the Emirates Invitational at Yas Links in Abu Dhabi, but you just don’t feel the heat as much compared to the usual black shirts which absorbed the sun, so u can look smart but stay cool.”
