Four new golf ball models launched by Titleist

Titleist have launched four new models of golf ball for the 2012 season, each designed to suit different skills levels and personal preferences.

In addition to a new NXT Tour ball and NXT Tour S model, Titleist have also unveiled the Velocity ball and the DT SoLo.

The NXT Tour first launched in 2001, but there have been many improvements since. The latest incarnation has been engineered for longer distance, but with no sacrifice in terms of short game spin and control.

The S version offers golfers a slighly softer feel, but still offers outstanding distance off the tee and with the long irons. Both models are priced at £34 per dozen.

The Velocity ball is, as the name suggests, all about speed and distance. The new high-speed core and cover combination helps to deliver high initial ball speed on full swing shots with all clubs and will retail at £28 per dozen.

Finally, Titleist’s DT SoLo (£21 per dozen) has also got a makeover – it still features all the yardage its predecessors delivered, but with a softer cover for greater feel around the green.

We’ll have more on the new balls in the next issue of TG, which goes on sale on March 22.
