Callaway powers Willett to maiden Tour victory in Germany

Callaway staffer Danny Willett won his first European Tour event at the weekend, after seeing off Marcus Fraser in a playoff at the BMW International Open.

After finishing level on 11-under-par, the pair tackled the 18th hole a further four times before the Sheffield-born Willett finally sealed the win with a tap-in following a sensational flop shot.

The Englishman, who had a three-stroke lead at one point on Sunday, had finished in the top-10 an impressive 19 times previously without managing to get his first win.

Key to Willett’s success was his arsenal of Callaway clubs, which included a RAZR Hawk Proto, RAZR Fit fairway wood and RAZR X muscleback irons.

His brilliance around the greens was aided by the fabulous Forged wedges and the 24-year-old also relied on an Odyssey Black Series i #1 putter and HEX Black Tour golf ball.

Willett’s attention now turns to Open qualifying, and he’ll be hoping his fine form continues at Sunningdale on Monday.
