PING unleashes new Nome putter after Mahan’s WGC win in Arizona

Following staff player Hunter Mahan’s stunning win at the WGC-Accenture World Match Play last week, PING have unveiled the Nome putter which the American used on his way to victory.
The mallet-style wand, which should hit these shores in April, has been precision milled from high-grade aluminium and features tungsten weighting in the sole which optimises the centre of gravity and increases forgiveness.
It has also been designed with a black alignment bar which makes aiming easier for players of all abilities.
Mahan put the new putter into play after an alignment-testing session with PING’s Senior Player Development Manager Matt Rollins.
“It felt great immediately and it gave me a lot of confidence so I could just trust my aim and stroke the ball freely. I felt I could make just about any putt I looked at,” said Mahan.
INFORMATION: The Nome will be available from £209, with a Belly model retailing at £249.
