Abacus Launch Local Heroes Campaign

Abacus Sportswear, the Swedish golf clothing brand, has launched its inaugural abacus Local Heroes campaign with six amateur golfers becoming the brand’s ambassadors for a year.

Readily associated with golf’s elite, including The Solheim Cup, The Ryder Cup and The European Tour, Abacus Sportswear has created this unique campaign to allow everyday golfers to experience life as a Tour player, with access to premier coaching clinics, world-class teaching staff and a full abacus wardrobe.

Nominations for abacus Local Heroes Sweden 2013 – the first of the campaigns to be rolled out in Europe – led to six Swedes being named as this year’s abacus brand ambassadors.

During 2013, they will share their daily experiences and golf day stories on Abacus Sportswear’s dedicated blogsite, www.abacuslocalheroes.com, and Facebook page, providing documentary-like insights into their daily lives.

“Given our numerous partnerships with global golfing organisations, we wanted the opportunity to connect with players at the heart of the game,” commented Henrik Bergqvist, Abacus Sportswear managing director.

“Thanks to the abacus Local Heroes campaign, we have been able to create a relationship directly with grass-roots golfers, providing them with the platform to talk about their everyday golf life and showcase what our game’s unsung heroes go through out on the golf course.”

The next abacus Local Heroes campaign is set to be rolled out in the UK later this year.
