Odyssey’s new milled Metal-X putters

Odyssey’s new Metal-X putter line-up for 2014 benefits from a host of technological advancements, including a chemically milled face, stabilising bar and adjustable head weights to customise feel.

The previous Metal-X range featured a dual-layer face insert, but now oval depressions chemically milled straight into the face are said to offer a more controlled and consistent roll.

A “stabilising crossbar”, which is visible from the back, stiffens the face to stabilise both sound and feel. Each Metal-X putter also comes with an Adjustable Weight Kit, offering three sets of weights to fine-tune the preferred head weight to 340g, 350g or 360g.

This technology is available in six head shapes – #1, #6, #7, 9HT, 330 mallet and Rossie. The range has already seen success on the PGA Tour when Chris Kirk claimed his second PGA Tour victory at the McGladrey Classic after switching to the Metal-X Milled #1.

“With the introduction of Metal-X Milled Odyssey is making a statement about performance and what can be achieved by bringing together a series of truly ground-breaking technologies,” said Austie Rollinson, Principal Designer, Odyssey Golf.

“As a company we are driven by technology to turn putting into an art form and with Metal-X Milled we’ve re-written the rules and created a concept that, once more, underlines why Odyssey is the No.1 putter brand in golf.”
