Progen Re-launch With New 2013 Ranges

Progen Golf has re-launched their popular brand from the late nineties and early 2000’s under new ownership, with a complete brand and personality makeover for the next generation of golfers.

“Golf is changing and Progen is for a new generation of golfers,” commented Product Development Executive James Graham. “We wanted to create something a bit different and launch a brand for the new breed of golfers out there. These golfers may not play competitively or be members of clubs, but take their golf seriously.

“The Progen name lends itself to this perfectly and we are keen to bring to market a range of products with attitude” added Graham.

The re-launch event epitomised the new look and attitude of the brand, with guests invited to smash up a Progen branded car on the driving range using the latest Progen golf equipment and trial the latest short-game products by a fire-lit chipping and putting green.

The edgy new-look Progen range features three distinct product lines, under the Chromo, Haema and Red Eye sub-brand names; with the products distributed by specialist golf distribution company, UK Golf Distribution, across Europe and available in the UK through Direct Golf UK.

Progen Range for 2013

The Progen Chromo driver offers a premium titanium face controlled by the dynamic neutral weighting of the sole plate. The explosive reaction from the face offers huge distance while a mid-to-low centre of gravity optimises the trajectory to ensure no distance is lost by the ball going too high or too low.

The graphite shaft has been aerodynamically and resistance-matched to work in harmony with the explosive nature of the head, while the vibration dampening grip offers fantastic feedback and feel, while offering maximum control.

It will come in lofts of 9°, 10°, 13° and 15° loft options, with an RRP of £149.

The fairways and hybrids share the same design and performance characteristics as the driver, but their hotness comes from a precipitation hardened Hyper steel face. Each feature dynamic neutral weighting on the sole for a penetrating ball flight and a explosive reaction from the face offers huge distance, while a mid-to-low centre of gravity optimises the trajectory.

They are available in 3 and 4 woods, as well as  16°, 19°, 22° and 25° hybrid loft options, for £99.

The Progen Chromo irons utilise 17-4 precipitation hardened stainless steel, made of 17 parts Chromium and 4 parts nickel. The chromium gives the product a highly polishable finish that minimises resistance on the sole to avoid any lag at impact that would result in loss of distance, while the 4 parts nickel from the composition offers fantastic feel and awesome feedback.

A hybrid iron set featuring 19° and 22° Chromo hybrids and 5-SW cavity back irons is also available, with prices starting at £399 steel and £449 graphite.

The Chromo wedges a forged from 304 stainless steel, with dual bounce soles that enable shots to be played out of deep bunkers, but also tight lies. Put your hands forward at address to activate the low bounce setting, put the ball in the middle of your stand to activate the high bounce setting which is for the rough, longer fairways or bunkers.

These different optional settings give you unmatched product performance and enables you to play many shots with one wedge, all for only £59.99.

The Chromo putters come in three designs, each featuring micro CNC face milling designed to take grit and moisture away from the ball at impact ensuring perfect connection between the face and the ball.

The double milled CNC face is perfectly flat prior to the final layer of CNC milling, this 5 stage process is the only way to ensure the most exacting performance.

A stepless shaft is also used too, as it is the purest way to optimise feedback, a variation of levels of heel and toe weighting in the range ensure any preference of golfer is available for just £69.99.

The Haema range includes hybrid irons manufactured from 431 premium stainless steel the Haema irons’ low nickel content provides a harder club face for greater distance. Teaming up with True Temper USA, Progen were able to engineer a shaft to perfectly match the dynamic profile of the Haema head.

The steps of the chosen True Temper shaft ensure that the extra distance from the explosive head are still controllable, with prices from £249.

Finally the Progen Red Eye package set offers performance and playability. The research that went in to getting the perfect dynamic capabilities for the True Temper shaft in the Haema iron set is also shared in the Red Eye set.

The Driver uses a Titanium face to achieve explosive distance, while the fairway woods and hybrids have a low COG for optimised launch angle. The irons are cast from 17-4ph stainless steel featuring undercut cavity for ultimate forgiveness.

The package also includes an ultra lightweight stand bag with 7 full length dividers and comes in under £300.
