SLDR spreads its wings

While they might not feature the sliding weight mechanism we saw in the driver, TaylorMade’s SLDR fairway wood and hybrid maintain the driver’s philosophy of added distance through a forward centre of gravity (CG) and more loft.

Instead of the sliding weight, a new cut-through “Speed Pocket” behind the face flexes with more efficiency than previous models. It places the CG lower and closer to the face for more ball speed and less spin.

Like the SLDR driver, the woods and hybrids are adjustable via the hosel. You can choose from 12 settings with TaylorMade’s “Loft Sleeve Technology”.

“Our continued exploration of clubface dynamics enabled us to create a new Speed Pocket design that’s smaller yet more efficient, and the weight we saved allowed us to move the CG lower and more forward. That’s a win-win,” says Tom Olsavsky, Senior Director Product Creation (woods).
