adidas ZX 8000 Golf shoe brings iconic adidas Originals’ ZX series to golf for the first time.

Hot on the heels of the legendary Superstar coming to golf, adidas have again delved into their archives to bring a limited-edition version of the iconic adidas Originals’ ZX Series to the fairways.

First released in 1984, the ZX Series gave runners different options depending on their type of run, training and favoured surface. adidas Golf say they adapted the same mentality in creating the ZX 8000 Golf shoes, packing in everything a golfer needs to not only look stylish, but to get the traction and performance needed on the golf course.

It takes design inspiration from the original ZX 8000 running shoe first released in 1989, with the unmistakable aqua, yellow and purple colour scheme.

Many of the innovations and characteristics that were originally created for ZX and further developed over the last 35 years can be found in the golf model, including the patented Torsion System for added stability and responsive Boost midsole for comfort and energy.

The ZX 8000 Golf also has a water-resistant upper and leather toecap, while the spikeless outsole follows the original model but has longer, golf-specific secondary lugs, and a more aggressive tread pattern to ensure grip and stability in the golf swing.

“As the original sports brand, we are in a unique position to draw on our extensive archives for inspiration,” said Masun Denison, global footwear director, adidas Golf.

“The ZX was always meant to challenge the way people thought about running performance and we wanted to do the same with golf footwear by pushing the limits with technology and fashion.

For fans of detailing, the shoe features a lace jewel with the words “ZX GOLF”, along with a unique adidas Golf logo on the heel and sockliner.
