The Open tee times

The tee times for the first round at this year’s Open golf championship at St Andrews have thrrwn up some mouth-watering prospects.

World No1 Tiger Woods is playing with man-of-the-moment Justin Rose and Columbian superstar Camilo Villegas. Rose is coming off the back of two PGA Tour wins in America and could be one of the front runners.

Woods has shown indifferent form since returning after the revealtions about his private life but has won on the previous two occasions The Open was held at St Andrews.

Rose, Woods and Villegas tee off at 9.09 am on Thursday. About 20 minutes earlier Ian Poulter gets his challenge under way. He is teamed up with Ernie Els and last year’s Open champion Stewart Cink.

The story of last year – Tom Watson will be hoping to rise to the occasion once again as he tees it up with Padraig Harrington and Japanese superstar Ryo Ishikawa. That three-ball starts at 9.20am on Thursday.
