Day One at The Open 2012

Adam Scott sets a hot Open pace after opening his account with a stunning round of 64 despite bogeying the last. His nearest challengers, just one shot behind, are the trio of Paul Lawrie (1999 champion), former US Masters winner Zach Johnson and young Belgian Nicolas Colsaerts.

Day Two at The Open 2012

It’s American Brandt Snedeker’s day. He powers to the top of the leaderboard after shooting a superb 64 to go 10-under-par, one clear of Scott. But Tiger Woods, at -6, is ominously lurking in third spot on his own.

Scott remains firmly in the driving seat – he’s -11 and four shots clear of 2010 US Open champion Graeme McDowell from Northern Ireland (the final Sunday pairing) with South African Els another couple of shots further back on -5.

What an unbelievable finale! Aussie Adam Scott was seemingly cruising to his first major and the Claret Jug with a few holes to go. But golf is a funny old game and the 32-years-old Scott blew up big-time coming down the stretch – he finished with four consecutive bogeys – and the Big Easy Ernie Els took full advantage of Scott’s dramatic collapse.
