The world’s greatest ever Olympian Sir Steve Redgrave has proved he can hold his nerve on the golf course too.
The five-time gold medal-winning rower took to the fairways of Burhill, Surrey, with BBC Sport presenter John Inverdale and club member Bob Stratton.
Sir Steve, who won gold in Los Angeles, Seoul, Barcelona, Sydney and Atlanta, showed his trademark grit and determination as he swept around the New Course and safely crossed the water on the signature par-3 18th to win the match.
John Inverdale said: “Steve is as competitive now on the golf course as he was in a boat. He had a 20 foot putt on the last green to beat me, and I knew he was going to hole it – sure enough, he did.”
