Manchester United manager and Muscular Dystrophy Campaign Patron, Sir Alex Ferguson was joined by stars of stage, screen and sport at his prestigious annual golf event, to raise money for children and adults affected by muscle disease.
 
Thirty-two teams took part, each led by a well-known name from the world of sport and entertainment, including Sam Torrance; former international footballers Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke and actors James Nesbitt and Michael Le Vell.
 
Top spot was taken by Johnny Shentall’s team, BGC Partners. Ralf Little’s team took second place while Michael Vaughan’s came third.
 
The celebrities and their guests relaxed after the day’s challenge at a special gala dinner where guests took part in a live charity auction, helping to raise over £50,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
 
Sir Alex said: “This charity is very close to my heart and I’ve supported it for most of my adult life. I’m delighted to be able to help all those affected by muscular dystrophy.”
