Barclays Scottish Open raising money for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice

The Barclays Scottish Open and Loch Lomond Golf Club have nominated The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice as their official charity for 2009.

The Hospice, situated beside the River Clyde in Glasgow City Centre, will benefit from a series of fundraising events at both the Barclays Scottish Open and Loch Lomond Golf Club during 2009, including a Charity Golf tournament to be held at the Club in October.

Speaking on behalf of the Hospice, Morag Cunningham, Director of Fundraising and Marketing said, “We are absolutely delighted and honored to be named as the official charity for the Barclays Scottish Open and Loch Lomond Golf Club.  In addition to raising some much needed funds, this is a great opportunity for the Hospice to raise its profile through such a prestigious event and Club.

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice provides palliative care for people with a terminal illness and support for their families and carers.  All Hospice services are free, regardless of patients’ circumstances.  As a registered charity, the Hospice relies on the generosity of its supporters for more than two thirds of its funding.
