Handicap Tracker: Hole more putts

In association with American Golf

We’ve all heard the cliche ‘drive for show and putt for dough’ but the meaning rings true, which is why it’s so amazing that amateur golfers usually spend hours bashing driver and very little time on the putting green.

Last week 60% of rounds entered into our FREE Handicap Tracker service recorded at least one three-putt hole, and 35% of golfers took more than 36 putts, including the following:

» Norman Pettinger (28) shot 110 at Crookhill Park GC recording 46 putts.

» Ian Broomfield (21.6) took 44 putts on his way to a 97 at Wyre Forest GC.

» Nirmal Singh (11.4) shot 42 putts but still managed to score 79 for a one-shot handicap drop at Telford GC. Single figures easily obtainable with better putting.

If, like this trio, you suffer on the greens, here is a great video tip from TG Elite Pro Adrian Fryer that shows you how to hole-out those tricky little three-footers.
