Sam Torrance and John Letters to host special day in Yorkshire

Sam Torrance OBE is marking his return to John Letters of Scotland by hosting a special event at Crosland Heath Golf Club on Tuesday 29 June.

The day forms part of John Letters’ celebrations after re-capturing the signature and services of one of Scotland’s most celebrated golfers, nearly 40 years after signing his first professional contract with the brand back in 1971.

‘An afternoon with Sam Torrance’ see teams of golfers attempting to ‘beat the pro’ at a nearest the pin competition to help raise much-needed funds for the Chris Gill Junior Golf Foundation.

With spectators welcome, golf fans have the opportunity to come along and watch the victorious 2002 Ryder Cup Captain in action on the 9th hole of the Alistair McKenzie-designed Crosland Heath course from 2.45pm-4.15pm. With no jeans allowed and golf shoes recommended, the day provides the perfect opportunity to get up close with a true golfing legend.

Crosland Heath and its members are looking forward to what promises to be a memorable day for golf in Yorkshire. Head pro Richard Lambert said: “It’s a great honour having a British legend of the game coming to visit such a picturesque and beautiful golfing corner of Yorkshire.”

With over 43 professional wins, eight Ryder Cup appearances and victory as European Ryder Cup captain, Torrance epitomises British golf and the new partnership with John Letters of Scotland sees two of the games most iconic names join forces once again.
