Big golf drive to aid cancer sufferers

Golfers throughout the country can do their bit for Macmillan Cancer Support later this summer by getting involved in the charity’s new Big Golf Drive day.

More than 300,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with cancer every year and Macmillan is there to support them and their families every step of the way.

But they need your help and by getting involved in the Big Golf Drive you can help make sure no one goes through cancer alone.

For one day only – Friday 24th August  – golfers and golf clubs across the country will hold events to raise money for people affected by cancer.

Just before the August Bank Holiday is the perfect excuse for a great day out at your local club/course. But if you can’t take part on August 24th, you can simply pick any other day of the year to hold your Big Golf Drive event.

And there are so many ways your Big Golf Drive event can raise money to help cancer victims. Said a Macmillan spokesperson: “We want you to do whatever suits you – and to have fun doing it.

“You can simply play a round with your pals and donate your entry fees or why not make a big day of it by getting your whole club and community involved?”
