Stars turn out for Four Course classic

Top golfing personalities Darren Clarke, the reigning Open champion, Sir Nick Faldo and Peter Alliss are backing the UK’s biggest charity golf event, challenging golfers to tackle four 18 hole courses in just one epic day!

Teeing off at sunrise on the longest Friday of the year, 22 June, each team of four will need to play 72 holes in 16 hours covering about 15 miles of fairways. It’s all in aid of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, the UK’s leading charity fighting against muscle-wasting conditions.

Clarke is supporting the event for the third year running saying:“Playing 72 holes in one day is the ultimate challenge and a great way to really test your golf skills and stamina.

“Signing up to this event could help to save the lives of thousands of children and adults who often face disability and even an early death.”

Hundreds of prestigious golf courses across the UK have signed up to support the challenge, offering free tee-times to participants.

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign also pledges to get in touch with any courses golfers want to play which are not currently signed up to the scheme.

Last year’s event raised over £40,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.

Some great prizes are up for grabs including a golfing holiday and memorabilia including a specially designed, commemorative pin flag depicting Faldo’s three Open Championship wins and signed by Sir Nick himself.

To sign up your team, visit www.fourcourseclassic.co.uk or call 020 7803 4824. For just a £25 registration fee, each player will receive their four complimentary tee times, a polo shirt, and full fundraising support to help you to raise the minimum sponsorship of £250.

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is the leading UK charity focusing on muscle disease. It has pioneered the search for treatments and cures for over 50 years, and is dedicated to improving the lives of all children and adults affected by muscle disease.

It funds world-class research to find effective treatments and cures; provides free practical and emotional support; campaigns to raise awareness and bring about change and awards grants towards the cost of specialist equipment, such as powered wheelchairs.
