Former Open champ joins Your Golf Travel

Former Open champion Darren Clarke has agreed a new role with Your Golf Travel to become the global brand ambassador for Europe’s largest golf tour operator.
Clarke, one of the frontrunners to succeed Jose Maria Olazabal as Europe’s Ryder Cup captain in 2014, will be at the forefront of Your Golf Travel’s promotional activities over the coming months, while he will also carry their logo on his shirt as an official sponsor alongside Dunlop Collection.
One of the European Tour’s biggest stars over the last two decades, Clarke has enjoyed global success since turning professional in 1990 including 22 wins worldwide and five successive Ryder Cup appearances from 1997-2006, while he finally ended his search for a Major by winning the Open Championship at Royal St George’s last year.
The 44-year-old Northern Irishman said: “I’m delighted to have agreed my new role with Your Golf Travel.
“As Europe’s largest golf travel business, they have an influential role to play in attracting new people to golf and that can only be good for the long-term future of our great game.”
Under the terms of the new partnership, Your Golf Travel will also become a global partner to International Sports Management (ISM), Clarke’s sports management company, who will assist in the marketing of events and promotion of the business in 2013.
