Double Joy For Youngster Dunlop

Youngster Ben Dunlop is seeing double at Redbourn Golf Club after adding to his Mens’ Club Championship victory by also winning the Junior version.

The 16-year-old from St Albans topped a field of 20 competing in the Junior Club Championship over the spectacular par-70 Ver Course to take his second victory with a gross score of just four-over.

Alex Williams and Kumar Starkie-Gupta were only one and two shots behind respectively to finish second and third by the tightest of margins, with scores of 75 and 76.

The nett prize was awarded to George Mudd from St Albans. The 14-year-old’s score of 65 handed the youngster both the trophy and a one-shot handicap reduction to 18.

Eight-year-old Jack Bigham played off three less than his usual handicap of 31 and managed a stunning score of nett 66 to finish second ahead of Alex Crawford who came third with a 69.
