Paul Broadhurst favourite to become new British Par 3 Champion

Former Ryder Cup star Paul Broadhurst was the first round leader at the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship at Warwickshire venue Nailcote Hall with a score of -6, two shots clear of Andrew Marshall (-4).

Ryder Cup legend Sam Torrance OBE put in a strong performance to finish at -2 and has left himself in a strong position for today’s conclusion to the tournament. Teenager Charley Hull also played extremely well to give herself a chance of taking home the coveted title with a -2 round.

After the celebrity fun of the previous day, the professionals took centre stage to battle it out to win their share of the £100,000 prize fund with several leading European Tour and European Senior Tour players in the hunt.
