Coach Peter Cowen Extends His Association With Emirates Golf Club

The Emirates Golf Club in Dubai have announced a two-year extension to its partnership with Peter Cowen, one of the world’s leading golf coaches.

The affiliation allows The Academy at Emirates Golf Club to use Cowen’s experience and expertise during his regular visits to Dubai.

Cowen will work with the team on the schedule and structure of lessons being offered, as well as using Emirates Golf Club as a base to bring players to use the practice facilities and golf courses.

Christopher May, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Golf, said: “Peter is one of golf’s most respected coaches and his knowledge, experience and energy will allow us to maintain world-class standards at our teaching academy.

“Peter will continue to have a very active role in the development of our teaching programmes and how they are then communicated to the thousands of golfers, beginners through to Tour professionals, that use our academy facilities at Emirates Golf Club each year.”

2010 was arguably Cowen’s most notable coaching year to date, helping Lee Westwood take 2nd at the Masters, Graeme McDowell win the US Open and Louis Oosthuizen win the Open Championship at St Andrews, with Westwood 2nd and Henrik Stenson 3rd.

Commenting on his extended partnership with Emirates Golf Club, Cowen, said: “Playing a significant part in the future direction of what I believe to be the best teaching facility in the region is very exciting. Emirates Golf Club, and its team of highly-trained PGA Professionals, continue to offer golfers of all level the very best tuition and guidance – I’m proud to be a part of that.”
