A star-studded field is being assembled for the Berenberg Gary Player Invitational at Wentworth on July 20th.
This is a big year for the legendary South African and Berenberg as both celebrate significant milestones – Player’s 80th birthday and the 50th anniversary of his career Grand Slam along with Berenberg’s 425th anniversary.
As a result, some of the biggest names in golf will be in action in Surrey the day after The Open, including Fred Couples, Mark O’Meara, Sam Torrance, Zach Johnson, Jason Dufner, Charl Schwartzel Suzann Pettersen, and Charley Hull.
A delighted Player said:“I’m absolutely thrilled that so many world-renowned players in the men’s and women’s game have gathered to participate in this year’s event and join in the celebrations of what is a very special year for me and Berenberg.
“I can’t wait to head to one of my favourite places in the world, Wentworth, to be amongst them all and help raise more money for this year’s fantastic charity, DePaul UK.”
Dr. Hans-Walter Peters, spokesman of the Managing Partners of Berenberg, commented, “We are glad to once again partner with the Gary Player Invitational and join together with Black Knight International and golfing stars from around the globe to raise money for this year’s beneficiary, DePaul UK.”
The Berenberg Gary Player Invitational forms part of the world-leading Gary Player Invitational charity golf event series, which has raised more than $60 million for charities worldwide.
