Who says you can’t live the life of a Tour pro? You need a bit of money to do it, but there’s no better way than to tick off your bucket list courses by competing in a multi-day event. The prizes are plentiful and the experiences are even better.

East Yorkshire Mixed Golf Week
A 72-hole betterball Stableford competition (with one rest day) for mixed couples. The price includes 18 holes and a meal at Hessle, Brough, Hull and Cottingham Parks.

This golf week only features one course, but you can pick and choose how many of the six competitions you want to play in.

Lakeland Golf Challenge
New for 2020. This mixed event takes place on the Emerald Isle and is played over 36 holes at PGA National Ireland and the Faldo Championship Course at the five-star Lough Erne Resort. The format is individual Stableford and there are thousands of euros to be won over the two days. Quote ‘Lakeland Golf Challenge’ for discounted accommodation at Lough Erne Resort and Slieve Russell.
When: June 17-18.

Prince’s Open Week
A chance to play different formats and all three courses for a reduced rate. Competitions vary from 18 to 27 holes, but you need to get in quick because spaces are already filling up.
When: August 10-15

Gateway to Wales Golf Festival
Play one, two or three parkland courses in North Wales. The format is 4BBB Stableford and scores are aggregated to decide the winner. Venues include Padeswood & Buckley, Mold and Old Padeswood.
When: September 25-27.
Entry fees: £30 per pair. You can play in all three for £75 per pair.

MID RANGE
South Wales Coast Links Championship
A 72-hole men’s Stableford Championship, held at Southerndown, Ashburnham and Pennard over consecutive days. The top 44 then compete for the £300 winner’s voucher at Royal Porthcawl, host of the 2017 Senior Open Championship. Non-qualifiers go to Pennard.
When: March 23-26

Lincolnshire Swing Mixed
A mixed pairs competition, played over 54 holes of Stableford at Seacroft, Blankney and Woodhall Spa (Hotchkin). There’s also an individual event in June.

Midland Golf Challenge
Open to men only. Simply pair up with a mate and play 54 holes of Stableford at Blackwell, Beau Desert and Little Aston. Prizes are awarded to third place each day and overall.

Links Golf Salver
Consider this your Open Championship. It’s played over 36 holes of individual Stableford at West Lancashire and Southport & Ainsdale. Expect it to be firm and fast.

Lancashire Classic
A four-man team event, played over four rounds on consecutive days at Penwortham, Fairhaven, Preston and St Annes Old Links. The first three are 4BBB competitions, with the final being a Stableford event (two of four scores to count). Overall team prices up to eighth place.
When: July 6-9.
Entry fee: £600 per team of four.

TOP OF THE RANGE
Links Golf Salver Turnberry Resort
Stay and play at the 2011 Open venue. The price covers the 36-hole individual Stableford competition at King Robert the Bruce and Ailsa. Discounted B&B rates cost extra.

Test yourself on classic links courses on England’s Golf Coast including Formby, Southport & Ainsdale, Hesketh and West Lancashire. The top 12 players (10 net and two gross) after 72 holes go through to the final at Royal Birkdale. Non-qualifiers play Hillside.

Links Golf Cup Ayrshire
A fabulous line-up, featuring four outstanding links courses… Western Gailes, Gailes Links, Kilmarnock Barassie and Dundonald Links. The event is played over 72 holes of Stableford but as well as individual prizes, there’s also a team competition. Discounted hotel rates are also offered.
When: September 7-11

Sandwich Coast Links Championship
A four-day championship, played at three past and present Open venues. You stay at Prince’s and play 36 holes there, plus another 18 holes at Royal Cinque Ports. The top-12 scores (10 nett and two gross) qualify for the final at Royal St George’s.
When: September 28-October 1
Entry fee: £445 per person (inc one-night stay); £589 per person (inc three-night stay).

THE ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE
St Andrews Golf Week
A real bucket list trip, which lets you follow in the footsteps of the pros and play the Old Course at St Andrews, plus the New Course and Jubilee Course, the Castle Course and – as an added bonus – Kingsbarns. There’s a different competition each day, and a bunch of incredible prizes to be won. Prices start from £2,790 and include five rounds of golf, six nights’ B&B accommodation, transfers to and from the hotel (in a Mercedes), four dinners and four days’ golf tuition.
