Kaymer on the bag

Instead of playing in Tiger’s Chevron tournament in California as previously planned, Europe’s number one, Martin Kaymer, flew straight to La Manga, in order to caddie for his girlfriend, Alison Micheletti.

 

Two days after he won the Race for Dubai, the world number three was lending advice to his loved one, and whatever he was doing seemed to be working.

 

Micheletti shot an 89 in the first round on Monday without Martin on the bag, but since he has started carrying for her, she has shot rounds of 76 and 75.

 

She currently is 62nd in the field however, and needs a great final round today to move into the top-35 and ties, which would get her through to final qualifying for the Ladies European Tour, the premier tour in Europe.

 

And Kaymer is not the only European Tour player caddying in La Manga. The Swede, Alexander Noren, is also on the bag for his girlfriend, Emelie Lind. “I’m not a very good caddie,” Noren tweeted, “because I can’t keep my mouth shut.”
