Lee Westwood has been honoured by the Queen.
The 38-year-old, from Worksop, is honoured for his services to the sport after becoming the world's top-ranked golfer in October.
Few could argue that Westwood does not deserve his OBE after he took over at the top of golf's world rankings at the end of last year. Since then the likeable Englishman has been in a epic battle with countryman Luke Donald and German Martin Kaymer for the No1 spot.
With the US Open less than a week away and The Open at Royal St George's looming Westwood will be determined to repay Her Majesty with a right royal performance.
