Seve Ballesteros Remembered

The funeral of the late, great Severiano Ballesteros takes place in a parish church in his hometown of Pedrena today, Wednesday 11 May.
The small service reflects Seve’s humble beginnings and will be attended by his brothers, children, cousins, sisters-in-law, other close relatives and a sprinkling of high-profile names from the world of golf.
José Maria Olazábal, Sir Nick Faldo, Bernard Gallacher, Colin Montgomerie, Sam Torrance, Ian Woosnam, George O-Grady, Peter Dawson, Sir Michael Bonallack, Spain’s Crown Prince Felipe and Esperanaza Aguirre, the President of Madrid, will join the family to pay their respects.
The 54-year-old, who passed away early on Saturday morning after a long battle with cancer, requested that he be cremated and his ashes kept at the family home overlooking the golf course where his father was a greenkeeper when Seve was growing up.
