Fantasy Golf: Ballantine’s Championship preview

We’re staying on the European Tour for this week’s Today’s Golfer Fantasy Golf tournament, in association with Your Golf Travel, the Ballantine’s Championship in Korea.
The event is being held at Blackstone Golf Club for the second successive year, which is a tree-lined and undulating layout with plenty of water in play. That being said, the fairways are quite wide so there is some margin for error off the tee.
Last year’s winner Lee Westwood isn’t playing but there are some big names teeing up in a global field.
Here is the six-man Today’s Golfer team for the Ballantine’s Championship:
Adam Scott, $3.4m
The Australian hasn’t played much this year but his last two finishes have been T13 at the WGC Cadillac Championship and T8 at The Masters. At number 12, he’s the top ranked player in the field.
Ian Poulter, $2.8m
He just made the cut and finished T29 in China last week but a pair of top 10s before that, including at The Masters, show he’s in good form. Two of his last four European Tour victories have been co-sanctioned Asian Tour events.
Kyung-tae Kim, $2.2m
One of the big home hopes has proved he knows how to win on his own continent with five wins since May 2010. Finished T10 here last year and was T9 in the Japan Tour’s Tsuruya Open last week.
Miguel Angel Jimenez, $1.8m
The popular Spaniard was runner-up here last year. He hasn’t missed a cut this year and has two top 10s in his last four starts.
Alex Noren, $1.6m
He’s had a slow start to the year but a T6 in China last week might kickstart his season. In 2011, he had two wins and finished T5 in the Ballantine’s.
George Coetzee, $1.5m
The promising South African is yet to win on the European Tour but recorded six top-four finishes last season and added another in China last week.
