British Professional Golf Tour Secures Partnership with Leading Nordic Tour

Britian’s newest and most exciting professional golf tour, The Players Tour, has announced an impressive partnership for its 2013 season with leading Nordic Professional Golf Tour, the ECCO Tour.

As part of it’s unique series of Order of Merit competitions that will be running throughout the 2013 season, The Players Tour is offering two of it’s members a full tournament entry and accommodation package – worth approximately €1,900 each – for the €80,000 ECCO Tour Winter Series in 2014 at La Manga Club in Spain.

Last year’s ECCO Tour Winter Series consisted of two three day tournaments, with a total prize fund of €90,000 (2 x €45,000) and five wildcard places up for grabs for the European Challenge Tour, ECCO Tour Championship – hosted by Thomas Bjorn. 

The prize The Players Tour is offering will consist of tournament entry fees, free practice rounds, free golf, free trollies and 10 nights accommodation staying at the La Manga Resort.

The Players Tour Tour Director, Jamie Kean, said: “As a new Professional Tour, it is very important from an early stage, for us to lay down the right foundations to ensure we progress in the right direction and build a tour for the future.

“With major golf brands supporting us right from the start including Motocaddy, IJP Design, Nippon and Nikon among others, I am delighted to be also working with the ECCO Tour, as one of our main focuses on The Players Tour is about providing our players with the opportunities to progress within in the game and as a development tour, it is our duty to do so.

“Alongside the other career based incentives up for grabs – including Open Championship entry fees, European Tour Q-School places and EuroPro Tour places – our partnership with the ECCO Tour and their Winter Series in particular, is something that I am sure our members will look forward to competing for in 2013 and is something we are delighted to be involved with.”

The Players Tour, which successfully launched at London Golf Club in October 2012, will be visiting 29 of the finest championship and classic courses in the UK as part of it’s 2013 season.
