The Players Tour – Looking Ahead to 2013

To an outsider, being a touring golf professional is the perfect life and although that may be the case for the top players in the world, the majority of aspiring professional golfers are still trying to achieve the dream and make to the very top level.

For those that are still trying to reach those heights, The Players Tour offers aspiring and current touring pros the opportunity of competing, week in, week out, on the UK’s finest championship and classic courses, whilst competing for great prize money, amazing sponsors prizes and unique career based incentives.

With the main tour held predominantly as one day, 18 and 36 hole tournaments, to minimilise travel expenses and time away from work for those with other jobs, The Players Tour is already supported by major golf brands including IJP Design, Motocaddy, Nikon, Nippon and Never Compromise.

For those Pros that cannot afford to be away, on 2 or 3 day Pro Development Tours every week, where entry fees are high, along with travel and accommodation costs on top, The Players Tour offers competitive entry fees, professional competition and lucrative prize money, all played at top class venues including: Woodhall Spa, London Club, Woburn, Princes and Celtic Manor.

The Players Tour successfully launched at London Golf Club in October 2012, with 22-year-old Colton Alleyne-Davis taking the crown and £1,350 winners cheque.

The first event of 2013 will be at Chart Hills on the 19th of March, with on course banners, leaderboards, tournament scorecards, official starters and friendly knowledgeable staff, along with a constantly updated dynamic website with live scoring, player stats, results, galleries all providing beneficial features.

In addition to the weekly tournament prize funds the season is divided into 3 x Order of Merit competitions (Spring, Summer & Autumn – each one consisting of 7 tournaments), along with an overall season long Order of Merit which takes into account all 21 events.

Unique Order of Merit prizes up for grabs include: IJP Design Professional Clothing Contracts, Open Championship entry fees, European Tour Qualifying School places, ECCO Tour places and EuroPro Tour places.

There is also an exciting, season long, Professional Matchplay Championship sponsored by Ian Poulter owned IJP Design, which culminates in a 2 day Grand Final for the final four players and all players that enter also receive FREE Tour Membership worth £125!! The four finalists will also compete for a lucrative finalists Prize Fund, with the overall winner receiving a Professional Clothing Contract with IJP Design.
