Fantasy Golf: Turkish Airlines Open preview

The penultimate tournament in the 2013 TG Fantasy Golf game is the Turkish Airlines Open at The Montgomerie Maxx course at Royal Antalya, Turkey.
It’s the European Tour’s first visit to Turkey and the 7,100-yard, par 72 layout should offer up plenty of birdie opportunities – many experts are predicting the winning score to be around 20-under-par.
The course is tree-lined and the fairways are subtly contoured so accuracy off the tee will be a big factor this week. The greens are relative large but accurate approach play and good putting good prove the difference if the scoring is as low as expected.
There is no cut for the 78-man field and it’s the last chance for players to force their way into the top 60 in the Race to Dubai who qualify for next week’s DP World Tour Championship.
Here is TG’s six-man team for the Turkish Airlines Open:
Tiger Woods, £5.5m
The world number one is the star attraction this week. He already has five wins to his name this year, although he didn’t perform to his best in the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Play-offs.
Justin Rose, £4.2m
The US Open champion finished 5th in the HSBC Champions in his first start since a 6th at the PGA Tour Championship. He has a good record on tree-lined courses.
Martin Kaymer, £2.5m
The former world number one is showing signs of a return to form with a run of T7-T13-T13-T8 in his last four starts. He’s 14th on the European Tour for stroke average this season.
Ross Fisher, £1.3m
Another resurgent player who’s widely regarded as one of the best ball strikers on Tour. He’s 3rd in stroke average and 6th in greens in regulation this year and has four top 8s in his last six starts.
Kiradech Aphibarnrat, £0.7m
The big Thai player finished T3 at the PGA Tour’s CIMB Classic before a T55 in China last week. He has the power to reach most par 5s in two and is a decent putter to boot.
Liang Wen-Chong, £0.7m
The world number 132 has quietly had a very decent season and he’s notched six top 11s and a T15 at the HSBC Champions in his last 11 events. An accurate player who lies 11th in putts per GIR.
