Uihlein named Rookie of the Year

Peter Uihlein has been crowned Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year on the European Tour.

The award completes a stand-out season for Uihlein which has seen him claim his maiden European Tour title and finish in the Top-10 on seven occasions on his way to finishing 14th on the final Race to Dubai rankings.

Having started the season with playing rights on the European Challenge Tour, Uihlein made his mark on Europe’s biggest stage when he fired rounds of 72, 64, 69 and 68 to win the co-sanctioned Madeira Islands Open, immediately making the step up to play on the European Tour’s international schedule.

He continued his sensational form throughout the 2013 season and narrowly missed out on becoming the first player to shoot 59 on the European Tour when he fired a stunning 12-under par round of 60 at Kingsbarns during the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

Uihlein used a host of Titleist equipment throughout the season, including the Pro V1x golf ball, 913 D3 driver, 913 Fd fairway metal, 712U utility iron, MB irons, Vokey SM4 pitching, sand and lob wedges and Scotty Cameron Newport putter.

Continuing the success of players putting their trust in Titleist, Uihlein becomes the third Titleist Brand Ambassador to win the coveted Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award in the last four seasons, following Ricardo Santos (2012) and Matteo Manassero (2010).
