Ross Fisher looking to convert recent form at Portugal Masters

The next two tournaments on the European Tour are all about qualifying for the lucrative Final Series and Ross Fisher can confirm his place in the playoffs by winning the Portugal Masters.

A relatively small prize fund has resulted in a moderate field but Fisher is a proven winner at this level and the former Ryder Cup player will be looking to convert his recent fine form into a fifth European Tour title.

The tournament is being played at the Oceanico Victoria club on the Algarve. At just over 7,200 yards the course is relatively short. There will be a premium on accuracy over distance this week and the Englishman excels in this area of the game.

A missed cut in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on his last outing is offset by a solid bank of current and course form. Fisher has the skill’s profile to get his career back on track with a first win for three years and qualification for the Final Series.
