Danny Willett wins European Masters

Danny Willett emerged the king of the mountains following his third European Tour victory in the prestigious European Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre in Switzerland.
Tied 6th after an impressive Open showing at St Andrews, Willett continued where he left off at the Home of Golf by holding off the determined challenges of fellow Englishmen Matt Fitzpatrick and Tyrell Hatton.
Willett kept his cool and nerve by finishing -16, just one shot head of playing partner Fitzpatrick who shot a final round 66 and did everything he could to score his first victiory since joining the pro ranks. His time is surely not too far away and the same can be said of the promising Hatton who made it an England 1-2-3 after finishing one shot further back.
It was a great effort by Hatton who carded an eagle and six birdies on his way to an eight under par 62.
But the day deservedly belonged to Willett who fired three consecutive birdies at the 13th, 14th and 15th to put himself in the driving seat and finished with three straight pars to claim the title.
