Golf can be a confusing game, at times. While the European Tour was wrapping up its season with the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai – which, last time we checked, isn’t in Europe – the PGA Tour was playing its seventh tournament of the new season, the RSM Classic.
We’re no experts in time differences, but the PGA Tour does seem to be getting ahead of itself. The 2016 season now starts three-quarters of the way through 2015. The 2017 season will probably start next week. Don’t make too many plans over Christmas; you’ll need plenty of time spare to watch the culmination of the 2048 PGA Tour season.
One thing that’s plain and simple for all is the quality of golf being played on both tours.
Rory McIlroy showed scintilating form to win the European Tour’s DP World Tour Championship, with it sealing the Race to Dubai for the third time in four years. Meanwhile, in Georgia, 31-year-old Kevin Kisner sealed his first PGA Tour victory, taking the RSM Classic in dominant fashion with a six-shot margin.
