The Hero Indian Open is the final DP World Tour event before the Masters and concludes the tour’s Asian Swing.
Last year’s winner, Marcel Siem, has elected not to defend his crown, but there are still some decent names in the field.
Ryder Cup winner Rasmus Hojgaard will be making his first appearance in the event and hoping to tame one of the toughest courses on the circuit.
Where is the Hero Indian Open played?
The Hero Indian Open takes place on The Gary Player Course at the DLF Golf and Country Club, Gurgaon, India.
It’s a 7,293-yard par-72, widely regarded as one of the toughest tests in professional golf.
The fairways are narrow, the greens undulating, and water is in play on seven holes. The Hero Indian Open has been played here since 2017, although the event took a three-year hiatus from 2020-2022 due to Covid.
In the first two visits here, only three players managed 72 holes without making at least one double bogey. Stephen Gallacher won in 2019, despite making a quadruple-bogey eight during the final round.
Eddie Pepperell once suggested the course had been designed by Satan. “Literally every shot, something can go wrong,” said the Englishman. “It’s quite a walk and mentally it will be very draining to stay up there, if you’re up there the whole week in contention.”
2018 winner Matt Wallace said: “Every hole is a double-bogey waiting to happen.”

Who will win the Hero Indian Open?
Rasmus Hojgaard is the firm favorite to win, followed by Bernd Wiesberger, Sebastien Soderberg, and Yannik Paul.
Home fans will be hoping Anirban Lahiri can pick up his first win since 2015, which came at this event, albeit at a different venue.

The total purse at the Hero Indian Open is $2.25million, with the winner’s share likely to be a little under $400,000.
