How to beat Bunkers

Not only will your free tees and ball marker with this month’s copy of Today’s Golfer come in handy on the course, they can also help you play better golf!

We’ve compiled a series of exclusive video tips and drills using your free gifts to fix common faults and help you hit the ball longer and straighter, as well as sharpening your short game.

A greenside splash shot from a bunker is the only shot in golf where the club doesn’t come into contact with the ball – the ball rides out on a cushion of sand. Getting the ball out and controlling the distance relies on you taking the correct amount of sand consistently.

You can do this by practising this drill from John Letters Golf Academy Pro Tom Denby, which uses two tees in the sand to mark the entry and exit point of the club.
